To stand atop a mountain, having walked and scrambled your way up is an invigorating experience. To make it to one of the peaks of Mount Kenya, the second-highest mountain in Africa, is an achievement indeed. This tour offers you a quick, challenging, yet manageable ascent up the former volcano.
From the lowlands of Mount Kenya National Park, you will make your way up the mountain and progress through the changing plant and animal life. From forested lands, up to sparse moorlands, with craggy, glacier-carved valleys towards the top, the diversity of what you will see during your time on Mount Kenya is breathtaking.
During your climb up the mountain, you will be accompanied by your own dedicated trekking guide. They will be able to help you spot and identify the wide range of flora and fauna that’s native to the area. Also, you will be accompanied by porters who will take care of transporting your luggage and ensure that hot drinks and food are on hand upon your arrival and at each camp.
This ascent can be made quickly over the four-day itinerary that we offer, however, we do advise that you take a day to acclimatize to the increased altitude with an overnight stay in Nanyuki on the day of arrival. This will attract an additional fee, please contact us for further information.
